This module aims to equip learners with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively use technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies, in applied research within Vocational Education and Training (VET). The focus is on identifying reliable data sources, such as web analytics, surveys, and feedback, to gain insights into areas that need improvement. Learners explore key concepts, starting with understanding AI and various emerging technologies. They will then apply these tools in research tasks, using accurate data sources to inform their research and make data-driven recommendations. By the end of the module, learners must be able to integrate AI and emerging technologies into their research practices, improving the efficiency and depth of their findings. The module also encourages learners to adopt a positive attitude toward the use of AI and emerging technologies, recognizing their potential to transform and enhance applied research in VET. Ultimately, the goal is to foster a deeper appreciation of technology’s role in driving meaningful improvements in research outcomes.
